Welcome to Accompaniments.org — Recipes, Stories & Sourdough That Bring Us Together
Hi, I’m Paula, wife & mama to 6… the baker, cook, writer, and heart behind Accompaniments.org
This site was born from a simple love of wholesome foods, homemade bread, and the stories that surround the table. What started with a bubbling sourdough starter in my kitchen has grown into a place where recipes, tutorials, and reflections come together to inspire and connect.
From Starter to Story: How It Began
Like many home bakers and cooks, my journey began with more failures than successes. Flat loaves, sticky dough, lumpy gravies and the endless “is it ready yet?” questions were part of my daily routine.
But through patience and an unrelenting desire to feed my family traditional foods, I learned that sourdough isn’t just about bread — it’s about slowing down, creating with your hands, and sharing with others.
Today, I share what I’ve learned over the past 20 years so you can skip the frustrating parts and head straight to the joy of cooking. My motto: “Bake the dough, either way it’ll get eaten.”
