Texas Chili

Texas chili recipe with no beans. Its got just the right kick with a unique depth of flavor. Cooked low and slow, it's tender and flavorful

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds lean ground chuck
  • 1 pound pork breakfast sausage or you can use all beef
  • 5 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 large yellow onion finely chopped
  • 2 large jalapeƱos diced
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ancho chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons beef base or instant beef bouillon or 6 cubes
  • 1 tablespoon cumin ground
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 8 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  • Over medium-high heat, brown ground beef along with pork sausage together in a large pot.
  • Once the meat is cooked, add in diced onions and garlic, and jalapeƱos. Stir to combine.
  • Add seasonings, mix well.
  • Next, add in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and water.
  • Allow this to come up to a simmer then add lid.
  • Reduce the heat to low/medium and allow to simmer 1-2 hours.
