Texas Chili
Texas chili recipe with no beans. Its got just the right kick with a unique depth of flavor. Cooked low and slow, it's tender and flavorful

- 2 pounds lean ground chuck
- 1 pound pork breakfast sausage or you can use all beef
- 5 garlic cloves finely chopped
- 1 large yellow onion finely chopped
- 2 large jalapeƱos diced
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ancho chili powder
- 2 tablespoons beef base or instant beef bouillon or 6 cubes
- 1 tablespoon cumin ground
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons oregano leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
- 2 8 ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes
- 1 cup water
Over medium-high heat, brown ground beef along with pork sausage together in a large pot.
Once the meat is cooked, add in diced onions and garlic, and jalapeƱos. Stir to combine.
Add seasonings, mix well.
Next, add in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and water.
Allow this to come up to a simmer then add lid.
Reduce the heat to low/medium and allow to simmer 1-2 hours.
